Highway 99 Head-On Collision in Tehama County Kills 1 and Injures Pedros Macias Jr.
VINA, CA (September 10, 2021) – Pedros Macias Jr., 60, suffered injuries after being involved in a fatal head-on collision on Highway 99 early Thursday morning.
The collision happened around 12:30 a.m. on Highway 99, just south of South Avenue.
According to the CHP, a 28-year-old Red Bluff man was driving a Dodge truck north on southbound Highway 99 when it collided head-on with an oncoming tanker truck.
The driver of the Dodge truck, a 28-year-old Red Bluff resident, died at the scene. The police withheld the victim’s name until the victim’s next of kin was notified.
Meanwhile, the truck driver, Pedros Macias Jr., was airlifted to Enloe Medical Center in Chico with moderate injuries.
At this time, authorities are conducting active investigation of the crash, once available more information will be released.
