1 Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Accident near 405 Freeway in Long Beach

LONG BEACH, CA (December 9, 2021) – Early Monday morning, a pedestrian was struck and killed in a crash on 710 Freeway.

The collision was reported around 3:00 a.m., on the southbound lanes of the highway near 405 Freeway.

At this time, the events leading up to the accident remain unclear. However, investigators say one pedestrian was fatally struck by a passing vehicle on southbound 710 Freeway.

It is currently unknown how many vehicles were involved in the crash, or why the pedestrian was standing in the road at the time. However, an active investigation is still underway.

The surrounding area was closed for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties, but has since reopened. Once available, further details will be provided.
