Man Dead after Pedestrian Collision on Highway 101

SAN JOSE, CA (October 3, 2022) – Late Thursday night, one man was fatally struck in a pedestrian crash near Alum Rock Avenue. Authorities responded to the scene around 11:11 p.m., on Highway 101 near Alum Rock Avenue on September 29th. Per reports, the driver of a Scion VX rear-ended a northbound Tesla. The Scion driver then exited the vehicle and ran across the lanes where they were struck by a passing tow-truck. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced the Scion driver dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the tow-truck driver and the Tesla driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. At this time, the cause of the crash near Alum Rock Avenue is still under active investigation.
