Homeland Security Vehicle Left Pedestrian Killed after Collision on 5 Freeway

LOS ANGELES, CA (August 24, 2021) -Early Wednesday morning, a pedestrian was fatally struck by a Homeland Security vehicle on 5 Freeway.

The deadly crash occurred around 2:15 a.m., on the southbound lanes of Golden State (5) Freeway in the Silver Lake area near Hyperion Avenue.

According to the first responders, a 40-year-old female pedestrian died at the scene. However, her identity and the circumstances behind the crash remain unavailable.

Moreover, the Homeland Security officer stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

Los Angeles officials closed down several lanes on 5 Freeway to investigate. The authorities also ruled out the possibility of intoxication in both the pedestrian and the Homeland Security officer.
