Man Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Crash on Orangethorpe Avenue

BUENA PARK, CA (May 5, 2022) – Monday evening, a male pedestrian was pronounced dead after a hit-and-run collision on Western Avenue.

According to the police, the incident occurred around 9:50 p.m. on Western Avenue, just north of Orangethorpe Avenue.

For reasons still under investigation, the driver of a blue mid-size SUV struck a pedestrian and immediately fled westbound on Orangethorpe.

Paramedics arrived and performed life-saving measures on the male pedestrian. However, medics later pronounced him dead at the scene due to the extent of his condition.

Both directions of the roadway were temporarily shutdown to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.

At this time, Buena Park Officials are asking anyone with information about the hit-and-run driver to contact 714-562-3941.

In addition, the identity of the deceased victim remains unavailable, pending notification of next of kin.
