Victim Dead after Pedestrian Accident on Towne Avenue
POMONA, CA (July 18, 2022) – Early Sunday morning, one pedestrian was fatally struck in a hit-and-run on Mission Boulevard.
According to police, officers responded to the scene around 2:15 a.m., at the intersection of Mission Boulevard and Towne Avenue.
Investigators say the driver of a passing vehicle struck the pedestrian and immediately fled the scene. Eventually, first responders arrived and transported the injured man to a nearby hospital.
Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics later pronounced the pedestrian dead at the hospital. Although, their identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
At this time, authorities are encouraging anyone with information about the hit-and-run driver to contact Pomona Police Department Traffic Services Bureau at 909-802-7741.
No further details regarding the hit-and-run crash are public at this time; however, more information will be provided once made available.
