Unidentified Pedestrian Fatally Struck in Collision on Santa Ana Freeway
WINCHESTER, CA (November 2, 2021) – A pedestrian was struck and killed in a collision on Santa Ana Freeway, authorities said Monday.
The crash was first reported at 11:07 p.m. Sunday just north of Atlantic Boulevard when the driver of a white Nissan Sentra told dispatchers she thought she hit a body, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Furthermore, the driver of a black GMC Yukon SUV told dispatchers a few minutes later she hit the pedestrian.
The body of the pedestrian was in the No. 1 lane, prompting the CHP to issue a SigAlert. This prompted the closure of lanes 1, 2 and 3 of the northbound Santa Ana Freeway at Atlantic Boulevard.
Moreover, an active investigation by authorities are currently underway.
