Man Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Crash on 22 Freeway

WESTMINSTER, CA (July 25, 2022) – Saturday evening, a male pedestrian was killed in a collision near Brookhurst Street.

The incident happened on July 2nd, at around 9:00 p.m., when a man, walking on the center divider, was struck by a vehicle.

Officers arrived at the scene shortly after and found the man on the eastbound lane of the 22 Freeway near Brookhurst Street. Emergency medics tried to render aid to the victim, but were unable to revive him due to the extent of his injuries. Officials pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, authorities are withholding the identity of the man, pending notification of next of kin.

At this time, police say it is unclear whether or not the man was walking on the 22 freeway.

Further circumstances surrounding the collision near Brookhurst Street remain unclear. However, an active investigation is underway.
