Unidentified Pedestrian Fatally Struck in Collision near Sunset Boulevard

TUCSON, AZ (October 28, 2021) – Early Tuesday morning, an unidentified pedestrian was killed in a deadly accident on State Route 86.

Around 5:00 a.m., authorities received multiple dispatch calls in the area near Sunset Boulevard. First responders arrived to the scene near mile post 165 shortly after.

Per reports, a vehicle struck a pedestrian on the southwest side of State Route 86. However, the events leading up to the collision remain unclear.

Medics responded to the scene near Irvington Road and pronounced the pedestrian dead due to the extent of their condition.

Arizona Department of Public Safety crews closed all eastbound lanes of SR 86 during cleanup and preliminary duties. Although, the road has since reopened.

No further details have been provided.
