One Hospitalized after Pedestrian Accident near Cherry Avenue

LONG BEACH, CA (December 14, 2022) – Thursday evening, one pedestrian sustained injuries in a hit-and-run on Pacific Coast Highway.

The crash happened shortly before 6:25 p.m., near Cherry Avenue. Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after.

For reasons under investigation, the driver of a vehicle struck a pedestrian crossing the street and immediately fled the scene without contacting authorities.

Due to the impact of the collision, the pedestrian suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital. Although, authorities have not yet released their name or place of residency.

Meanwhile, Pacific Coast Highway between Cherry and Gardenia Avenue was blocked for 30 minutes during cleanup and preliminary duties. No information was provided and police are still continuing the investigation. At this time, an active investigation to determine more information is still underway.
