Vehicle Crash on Marin Avenue Left 75-year-old Pedestrian Injured

BERKELEY, CA (December 17, 2021) – A pedestrian crash on Marin Avenue sent a woman to the ICU with major injuries.

According to authorities, a slow-moving vehicle down the hill struck a 75-year-old Berkeley woman as she was crossing the street in the crosswalk.

Responders took the victim to Highland Hospital. At this time, further information regarding her condition remains unavailable.

Meanwhile, the vehicle driver, a 26-year-old Berkeley woman in a Ford SUV, remained at the scene to cooperate with authorities.

Initially, police said it’s possible that the steepness of the hill and the setting sun’s low angle of the setting sun may have contributed to the crash. An active investigation is still ongoing.
