Pedestrian-Auto Collision near IKEA in Emeryville Leads to Arrest

EMERYVILLE, CA (March 3, 2023) – Saturday afternoon, a DUI crash on Shellmound Street left at least one person with injuries.

Authorities responded to the collision around 1:17 p.m. at the 4400 block of Shellmound Street near an Ikea store in Emeryville.

Upon arrival, units located the pedestrian suffering from major injuries. However, the involved driver did not render aid to the victim and attempted to flee on foot.

Responding paramedics from the Alameda County Fire rushed the patient to a hospital where they remained in critical but stable condition.

Meanwhile, officers managed to apprehend the 34-year-old driver from San Francisco after getting identified by a witness. Officials charged the driver with felony DUI, hit-and-run, and gun possession.
