Wheatland Police Officers Hit a Pedestrian on E. Street Bridge

WHEATLAND, CA (July 30, 2021) – A pedestrian sustained injuries late Wednesday night after being hit by an on-duty police on E. Street Bridge in Wheatland.

The accident occurred on the E Street Bridge near Marysville around 11:00 p.m. on July 21.

According to Wheatland police, one of their deputies was returning from Marysville and was approaching the E Street Bridge when a pedestrian allegedly ran across the bridge.

The officer failed to stop in time and collided with the pedestrian.

First responders arrived on the scene and assisted the pedestrian. The patient was then taken to a nearby hospital for further care.

Authorities withheld the victim’s identity and their condition were not immediately revealed.

More details will be given as soon as it becomes accessible, as authorities continue to investigate the accident.
