Pedestrian Killed in Train Accident on Encinal Avenue

MENLO PARK, CA (March 24, 2022) – Friday morning, an unidentified pedestrian was fatally struck in a train collision on Watkins Avenue.

The incident happened around 10:36 a.m., on the tracks between Encinal and Watkins Avenue.

For reasons unknown, a northbound No.113 train traveling from San Jose to San Francisco hit and killed a pedestrian. Meanwhile, 68 passengers were aboard the train, and none of the passengers sustained injuries.

The incident closed the northbound track during cleanup and preliminary duties. However, the southbound track was reopened for the trains to pass through the area at low speeds.

Consequently, Caltrain advised delays near the incident area. Further circumstances surrounding the deadly train collision on Watkins Avenue are still being investigated.
