Victim Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Crash near Interstate 580

RENO, NV (August 15, 2022) – Early Tuesday afternoon, one pedestrian was pronounced dead after a deadly collision on 2nd Street.

The crash happened around 1:00 p.m., near the Interstate 580 north off-ramp. For reasons unknown, the driver of a passing vehicle struck the pedestrian in the area.

Upon impact, the unidentified victim suffered life-threatening injuries.

Medical personnel arrived and transported the severely injured pedestrian to Renown Regional Medical Center, where they later died. Although, authorities have not yet released their name or place of residency.

Meanwhile, the driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. At this time, the cause of the fatal crash is still under active investigation.
