Woman Dies in Fatal Pedestrian Crash near H Street
BAKERSFIELD, CA (July 25, 2022) – Tuesday morning, one woman was pronounced dead following a pedestrian accident on Truxtun Avenue.
The crash happened around 4:29 a.m., on the 1600 block of Truxtun Avenue near H Street.
Investigators say the driver of a vehicle struck the pedestrian as she was walking outside of a marked crosswalk. Medics arrived and transported the female victim to a nearby hospital for further treatment of life-threatening injuries.
Due to the extent of her condition, crews later pronounced the woman dead at the hospital. Although, authorities have not yet released her identity.
Meanwhile, the female driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
Following preliminary duties, speed, drugs, or alcohol do not appear to be the factor in the pedestrian accident on Truxtun Avenue. At this time, an active investigation to determine further information remains ongoing.
