Nicole Kidman used to be rad. She used to be rad/gnarly/tubular/trippindicular (circle one or more). Don't believe us? At Los Angeles' fifth annual Bike Night, founded by artist Lisa Anne Auerbach, you'll get to see the pre-Mrs. Tom Cruise actress in the 1983 Australian action-comedy BMX Bandits, solving crimes and sporting a head of awesome, kinky hair. The annual night, which is yet another symbol of how bicycle culture has surged to the fore of public consciousness in our fair city, will include more pedestrian pleasures: portrait painters rendering you and your bike, free admission to the museum's Llyn Foulkes exhibition and countless opportunities to meet people who can help you put cards in your spokes and brush off the dirt kicked up by your back tire. Hammer Museum, 10899 Wilshire Blvd., Wstwd.; Fri., May 17, 7 p.m.; free. (310) 443-7000, hammer.ucla.edu.
