Anyone can talk smack about a bad movie, but leave it to the
professionals to turn the smack-talking into a whole show. If you read
our story about Paul Scheer's love affair with his wife, actress June
Diane Raphael, which appears in our People issue, you already know that Scheer is one of the hardest-working comics in town: He not only stars on
FX’s The League and Adult Swim’s NTSF: SD:SUV::, but co-hosts the bi-weekly show Crash Test at Upright Citizens Brigade with fellow funnyman Rob Huebel. Scheer also hosts the popular podcast How Did This Get Made?, where he, Raphael and Jason Mantzoukas (also of The League and The Dictator) lambast cinema’s crème of the crap, from
Gigli to the Twilight franchise. The recent episode on Lifetime’s
laugh-fest Liz & Dick with Lindsay Lohan was a particular hoot. (“That wig is doing more acting than she does in the entire movie.”) Past guests have included Patton Oswalt, Kevin Smith, Weird Al Yankovic and Danny Trejo. For this live taping, Nick Kroll, another League cast mate, returns to help lambast From Justin to Kelly, 2003’s Grease-meets-Beach-Blanket-Bingo, in which American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson and runner up Justin Guarini fall in love and sing cute, but act atrocious. The show also gives a sneak peek at the second season
of Burning Love, the Yahoo web series that spoofs The Bachelor, this time starring Raphael as a lucky bachelorette looking for love. Largo,
