67-Year-Old Motorcyclist Dies in Traffic Collision near Willow Pass Road

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA (October 3, 2022) – Late Tuesday night, Paul Dietz was killed in a motorcycle accident on Highway 242.

The incident occurred around 11:10 a.m., just south of Willow Pass Road, per initial reports.

According to investigators, the driver of a Toyota rear-ended a Harley Davidson for reasons unknown. Upon impact, the rider, later identified as 67-year-old Paul Dietz, was ejected from the motorcycle onto the road.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics transported 67-year-old Dietz to a nearby hospital where he later died.

Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties, however it was later reopened.

At this time, an active investigation to determine further details is still currently underway. Once available, more information will be released.
