54-Year-Old Cyclist Struck and Killed by Impaired Driver

TUCSON, AZ (June 29, 2023) – Sunday afternoon, a DUI crash on East 29th Street claimed the life of Paul A Antonio.

The incident happened on May 21st, at around 2:45 p.m., in the 4200 block of East 29th Street.

According to the Tucson Police Department, Antonio was riding a bicycle in the area when he was struck by a white 2010 Chevrolet Colorado. The collision caused the bicyclist to sustain serious injuries.

Emergency crews at the site of the collision pronounced 54-year-old Paul A Antonio dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, police arrested the driver of the Chevrolet, 40-year-old James Lee Sorg, for driving under the influence. Officials booked him into Pima County Jail and he faces one count of manslaughter.

At this time, no further details regarding the collision are available. However, an active investigation is currently underway.
