87-Year-Old Woman Fatally Struck in Pedestrian Crash near Villa Avenue
CLOVIS, CA (October 31, 2022) – Saturday morning, 87-year-old Patricia Nelson lost her life in a pedestrian accident on Shaw Avenue.
The incident occurred at around 11:00 a.m., near Villa Avenue in the Sonic Drive-In parking lot at the Sunflower Marketplace shopping center.
According to reports, a Chevrolet Malibu driver made a left turn in the parking lot and struck Nelson as she was walking in the area.
Responding officials arrived and found the victim trapped under the vehicle. Fire rescuers extricated the woman from the wreck. Medics then rushed 87-year-old Patricia Nelson of Clovis to a local hospital where she later died from her injuries.
Meanwhile, the involved driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
Clovis officers are still reviewing the crash for more details and did not consider drugs and alcohol as factors in the crash at this time.
