50-Year-Old Woman Arrested after Fatal Pedestrian Crash near 605 Freeway

IRWINDALE, CA (February 3, 2023) – Authorities arrested Patricia Lopez Aguilar after a fatal hit-and-run on Live Oak Avenue, Tuesday night.

Officers responded to the scene around 9:21 p.m., at the 600 block of Live Oak near the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway.

According to reports, a man was walking in the traffic lanes when the driver of passing vehicle struck him. Upon impact, the driver fled the scene without rendering aid to the severely injured victim.

Responding personnel arrived and declared the male pedestrian dead at the scene. At this time, the victim’s name remains undisclosed.

Meanwhile, authorities managed to arrest 50-year-old Patricia Lopez Aguilar after a witness provided the suspect’s license plate number. Authorities held Aguilar at West Covina jail for suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and felony hit-and-run. Her bail is set to $50,000.
