1 Dead after Fatal Motorcycle Accident near North Hayden Road

PHOENIX, AZ (October 29, 2021) – Saturday morning, a passenger was trapped and killed in a fiery crash on Loop 101, in Scottsdale.

The accident took place at approximately 6:00 p.m., on Loop 101, near North Hayden Road. First responders arrived to the scene shortly after.

According to reports, a motorcyclist lost control and slid in the HOV lane for unknown reasons. Two drivers pulled over to help the injured motorcyclist when an SUV struck the rear of one of the stopped vehicles.

Due to the impact, one of the vehicles caught flame and became engulfed in fire. A passenger who was trapped inside the fiery car was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed for about 90 minutes during cleanup and preliminary duties. Although, the area has since reopened since the fiery crash on Loop 101.

At this time, authorities have not yet released the identities of those involved.
