1 Killed, 1 Injured in Two-Vehicle Collision near Old Highway 395

SAN DIEGO, CA (October 17, 2022) – Thursday, a passenger was killed and a driver was airlifted after a 2-car accident on Interstate 15.

The fatal incident happened around 7:13 a.m., on the southbound lanes of I-15, south of Old Highway 395.

Per reports, the driver of a gray Honda Civic veered from the southbound lanes and crashed into the rear of a disabled tractor-trailer on the freeway’s right shoulder.

Paramedics airlifted the driver, a 19-year-old male, to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, first responders pronounced the 18-year-old male passenger dead at the scene. Both occupants were from Baldwin City Park, California.

Meanwhile, the 32-year-old tractor-trailer driver from Riverside remained uninjured.

At this time, officials are working to determine if intoxication played a role in the incident.
