Halloween aside, hell hath no fury like a woman throwing it down onstage in the club. Two wicked, female-driven nights this week are sure to send shivers up your spine, pre– and post–hell night.

At Night Mass at the Standard Hollywood, the gospel-y goodness of Vula will possess your body and probably your soul. The London-bred singer, best known for her work with Basement Jaxx (the inimitable “Oh My Gosh”), holds nothing back. This headlining appearance, which also features Brendan Reilly, a touring performer with Disclosure (“Moving Mountains”), should have the whole soiree converted by the witching hour. The evening includes DJ sets by Kim Anh, Josh Peace and Bathhouse.

At This Is Not a Test, it’s the mic and wax wiles of female alternative hip-hop artists that’ll inspire worship. Tommy Genesis (Awful Records) rocks her raunchy rhymes live, along with UNiiQU3 (High End Times), Tiko Texas, DJ Suga Shay and KJ$ aka Kreayshawn on the decks, all going so hard they’ll haunt you long after the party’s over.
