One of Hollywood’s wildest art and event spaces is back!

The corner of Cherokee and Hollywood Boulevard is a historic locale: It was the site of famous punk club The Masque, and The Go-Go’s — who played one of their first shows there — have a star on the Walk of Fame right out front. But its biggest, most bodacious guise was as the W.O.W. Gallery, run by World of Wonder Productions, best known for creating RuPaul’s Drag Race and some of cinema’s weirdest documentaries. After a five-year hiatus, their gallery is back in business.

For W.O.W.’s glitzy, gender-bending return, RuPaul’s own makeup artist, Mathu Andersen, presents a show featuring and celebrating “Instagram Art,” specifically his own epic “selfies” as a mode of exploring vanity, sex roles and beauty ideals. Expect a who’s who of drag, Internet sensations and celebs to attend the opening bash. RuPaul hosts, and sound selections will be provided by author and “club kid” legend James St. James.
