They’ve taken over virtually every street in Los Angeles via clever billboards and bus banners, and now Minions are taking over L.A. Live.

Celebrating the little yellow guys’ brand of mischievous fun throughout all of the downtown entertainment complex’s restaurants and outdoor areas, the free, all-ages “Family Day Takeover” offers a dizzying array of amusements, including face painters, street artists, breakdancers, jugglers, bubbles, Hula Hoops, storytellers, sing-alongs, clowns, animals, crayon walls, magic, arts and crafts and more.

Music from Lucky Diaz and the Family Jam Band, L.A. Love Band, Move N’ Play, Jazzy Ash & the Leaping Lizards, Twinkle Time and Ken Frawley will amp up the little-people partying, too.

The action-packed kidapolooza also will feature Minions characters — and oh yeah, there’s a movie, too. It’s opening weekend for the Despicable Me sequel, which screens at the Regal Cinemas across the street.
