Get ready for a bevy of beauties shaking booties and tassled boobies alike at two major burlesque events this week.
First, the Hollywood Burlesque Festival begins Friday night at the Hayworth Theatre, offering showcases, competitions, screenings and classes for the gals who shimmy and the fans who love to watch them do it.
After the festival concludes, a different group of legendary L.A. burlesque babes (helmed by author/dancer Pleasant Gehman) gather for the Jingle Belles Holiday Extravaganza at Skinny's Lounge, featuring belly dance, burlesque, readings from Punk Hostage Press and more. Bring an unwrapped toy suitable for ages 3-12. Proceeds benefit the L.A. Fire Department's Spark of Love.
