Hell's Belles
THE SATELLITE
1717 Silver Lake Blvd.,? Silver Lake,  Friday, June 27,? 9 p.m.-2 a.m., $12

By their very nature, tribute bands are nothing new or novel. But when gals tackle testosterock legends – and pull it off – musically, that's something special. Hell's Belles have earned a rep for killing the loud vox and monster licks of AC/DC, but with members based around the country, they don't get out to L.A. often, making this show a rare one to salute.

One Belle, Sharon Needles (not to be confused with the season six winner of RuPaul's Drag Race), is no stranger to heavy-metal fans here. She's known on the cover-band circuit  (KISS cover maidens PRISS) and for her original music with L.A. legends Betty Blowtorch, a band that proved you don't need balls to play ballsy rawk.

UPDATE 6/27: Originally scheduled openers Black Sabbitch had to cancel. In their place KROQ faves Badflower will now open the show.
