It's Grammy week in Los Angeles, which means we're taking our vitamins and perfecting our air-kiss technique in preparation for this weekend's bashes. Most of the awards-related soirees are private, but if you've got the green, you can be part of the scene, too. Here are a few parties open to the public before the big show Sunday:

Kiss-n-Grind always throws a party that lives up to its name, with rap stars both on the mic and in the crowd. Talent TBA at press time for this one, but you can count on it going down at 333 Live. Then, on Saturday, Built 2 Ball promises celebs and musicians at Roosevelt Lofts Downtown, hosted by Snoop Dogg protégé Mac Lucci.

Avalon is always a hot spot during Grammy week, with artists in town for the week dropping by to get their boogie on near the end of the night, since it's open late. The lineup for Control night on Friday includes dark electro monsters Never Say Die, Zomboy and Mayhem Must Die. On Saturday, DJ Mag presents a few of the chosen ones from its coveted Top 100 list: tyDi and Andy Moor, plus an opening set from Kristina Sky.

Finally, Playhouse holds its own for a big Grammy weekend: DJ Cobra spins on Friday, while Grammy winner Jermaine Dupri hosts his fifth annual shindig on Saturday.
