There’s a lot going on Memorial Day weekend in Los Angeles: pool parties filled with frolicking, half-naked hotties, vogue-ing shindigs teeming with lithe lovelies, mega-clubs dripping with glamorous, glistening youth. You can read all about those and more in our Memorial Day weekend nightlife guide. For our party pick, we prefer to spotlight something different and more subversive.

Drag by its nature is about hyper forms of the beautiful and the grotesque, and no party in L.A. plays with those dualities better than Dragula. This time, it’s going all the way with the Ugly Ball.

Pop-tastic promo duo the Boulet Brothers have taken dress-up to bizarre, theatrical levels, and for this event, they want you to join them with your gross, tragic, busted, deformed worst. L.A. may be filled with beautiful people, but trust us, we know how to get vile better than anybody. With a midnight drag pageant and Tammie Brown, Vicky Vox, Saint Peter D’Vil, Dakota D’Vil and DJ Dave Banjela making a hideous mess of the dance floor.
