From Bats Day to Gay Day, unofficial group dress-up gatherings at Disneyland are nothing new. But only one dresses up to the nines. Dapper Day at Disneyland is about fashion, so you won’t see matching T-shirts, gothy getups or kitschy cosplay. You will see chic looks both modern and retro. Show up in your fashionable finery and be prepared to pose … a lot. Photo ops at various park locales (Mark Twain’s Riverboat, the Carousel) happen all day long.

For those who love style, clothing design and Disney but don’t want to ride Space Mountain in their couture (or pay park rates), we recommend official events nearby at which to strut your stuff. The Dapper Day “Expo Party,” hosted by social historian Charles Phoenix, will offer dancing to live bands Magnolia Memoir and Icy Hot Club, plus a buffet lunch in a private garden at the Disneyland Hotel. And a Dapper expo in the Grand Californian Hotel features vendors selling chic and spiffy attire.
