L.A. will be saying, “Oh my Goth!” this Saturday as two legendary Gothic dance nights come together for a rare meld of menacing music and decadent dance.

Helter Skelter reigned with the black-fishnet set back in the '90s, while Coven 13's mix of glamour and ghoulishness added a bewitching new vibe to the scene a short time afterward. Decades later, both nights retain legendary status amidst the after-dark denizens and an incestuous connection: DJ Jason Lavitt (Beat It, Club 90s, Bang!, Tigerheat) started out at Helter and went on to co-promote Coven.

On Saturday, Lavitt will join Helter Skelter's Michael Stewart (Scream, Perversion) on the decks in the main room, spinning goth, post-punk, deathrock, industrial and all the gloomy goodies heard during both clubs' heydays. Bruce Perdew and Jason Farber spin a dark techno set in the side room, while Dave Batts and Ralphie Nigmatic possess the patio with more spooky sounds.
