The day after Thanksgiving, aka Black Friday, is really only good for two things: resting or raging. After the epic pig-out of the day before, we tend to go for the latter. The last thing we want to do is go shopping — because if we're going to deal with crowds of people, it's gonna be on a dance floor.

Year after year, the best bashes in L.A. continue to be thrown by two diverse promoters, attracting very different scenes — one a casual hip-hop-fueled daytime jamboree packing in cool multiculti crowds, the other a fetish-focused dress-up affair celebrating the sexy side of “white trash” culture.

At Lure, the Do-Over's annual “Left-Over” party is a guaranteed good time, and a nice alternative to the stress that comes with dealing with family the day before. Residents Chris Haycock, Strong and Blacc hold it down, and the surprise DJ guests will provide yet another thing to be thankful for.

Later that evening, Miss Kitty's Parlour presents its annual White Trash Ball at the Dragonfly, and you can bet your canned yams the atmosphere will be raunchy good fun. Along with the usual DJs, the hillbilly hoedown will feature a strip-poker stage, an airgun shoot-off, a trailer-park queen pageant and a midnight square dance that's sure to be anything but square. Redneck attire is encouraged.
