Always a fantastical experience, The Labyrinth Masquerade Ball returns this weekend for its signature enchanted wonderland-like immersion filled with dance, drink and decadence. This year the event promises “several chambers of atmospheres”  featuring both classical music moments and pulsating electronic dance release. Vendors, a high tea, and spell-binding live performances add to the mythical, magical environment, which is inspired by Venetian tradition, Celtic faerie tales, goblin lore and David Bowie. Costumes or masks and formal -preferably period- attire are mandatory, as the participation of L.A.’s best fantasy cosplayers, special effects and makeup artists, costumers, creature fiends and other creatives is what makes this annual event one of the most imaginative, interactive and glamorous gatherings of the year.

The Millennium Biltmore Hotel, 506 S. Grand Ave. Downtown. Fri.- Sat., Aug. 16-17, 8 p.m.- 2 a.m. https://labyrinthmasquerade.com/tickets/
