People ran, at least two reportedly hid in a bathroom and shopkeepers locked up their stores in an attempt to stay safe. The attack put a 17-year-old, who was shot in the leg, in a hospital. It also had quick-responding officers rounding up suspects. But …
… no arrests were made, an LAPD Pacific Division sergeant told us.
The department says in a statement that officers responded to the shopping center at 6081 Center Drive about 8:45 p.m. Saturday:
One victim a 17 year old male suffered a gun shot wound to the leg. Officers responded, secured the mall, and determined the shooter had fled the scene.
The sergeant we talked to says the shooting happened in the mall's courtyard. The statement says it was “possibly gang-related.”

Chelsea Dixon, who works at the mall, told CBS Los Angeles:
People were shaking the doors trying to get in, running, screaming.

It's not the first time violence has visited the Promenade. Last year a horrific robbery took place at the Nordstrom Rack there. That store moved last month to the nearby Westfield Culver City, previously known as the Fox Hills Mall.
