The Pacific Dining Car, one of the oldest of old school L.A. steakhouses, is trying to go hip, or at least hipper. The late-night menu, now available every night beginning at 11 p.m., still includes the chocolate chip pancakes, but now it also includes drink specials all under $15. Hoping to attract more young professionals and foodies, they've also dded weekly specials like free corkage every Wednesday, wine tastings on Fridays and a weekday Happy Hour from 6 to 9 p.m.

Chef Michael Rosen (Les Anges, Reign, Maple Drive, Zeke's Smokehouse), who came aboard about five months ago, has added apple pie to the dessert menu, and he will likely tweak the menu further in upcoming months. Don't worry. The classics will remain untouched, as will the decor.
