Authorities Track Down Suspect with Help of Anonymous Tip

SELMA, CA (July 6, 2021) – An anonymous tip helped Selma Police to track down hit-and-run driver Pablo Vasquez on Saturday.

Initially, officers responded to the crash around 8:40 a.m., in the area of Whitson Street and Floral Avenue.

Upon arrival, police located a 23-year-old woman in the center median of the road. She had reportedly been struck by a hit-and-run driver and sustained life-threatening injuries.

Afterwards, the responders transported the woman to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment and surgery.

Later, Selma Police received an anonymous tip about the involved hit-and-run truck. The tip caller said they spotted the vehicle in the area of Howard and North Hill Street.

Officers eventually located the truck with severe damage to the hood and grill. They then arrested 30-year-old Pablo Vasquez.

The Selma Police Department booked Vasquez to Fresno County Jail with charges of felony hit-and-run with injuries involved.
