As seen on major networks, the story of Grant Davis’ captivating adventures is taking the literary world by storm …

“I’m going to kill you, and you won’t see it coming!”

Grant Davis is a man who only ever wanted the simple things in life: a home, someone to love, a career that brings him joy. But despite his best efforts, he becomes embroiled in a fatal scheme due to his trusting nature. Is he just a magnet for trouble – as it always seems to find him – or is there something much darker at play here?

Who Okayed This?! The Riveting Life of Grant Davis is the debut novel of newly acclaimed author P.E. Barrington. This gripping tale, as seen on ABC, CBS, NBC, and FOX, is a wild ride chronicling the adventures of soldier of fortune Grant Davis, a man of many talents – and many enemies.

Winner of the prestigious 2022 Stellar Book Award, the novel is based upon real events – and it’s up to the reader to separate truth from fiction. “Some of the wildest scenes in this novel are also the truest,” Barrington reveals, inviting readers to follow the grand tapestry of Grant’s life and loves, dangers and disasters. The novel involves a richly drawn cast of characters, both wicked and benign, each of whom may present hope or danger to the hero.

The story begins with tales from Grant’s childhood, revealing that even early in life, he was prone to adventure. Delights and mishaps galore befall him – and unfortunately, he makes enemies at a tender age, enemies whose bitterness will come back to haunt him later in life. Grant’s very successes and accomplishments stir up anger and jealousy in the dark hearts he encounters; and while he also has admirers, there are those who allow bitter envy to consume them – and seek revenge.

The real drama begins in the summer of 1995, when Grant is attacked in his quiet upstate New York home – and injected with a deadly toxin. With this unknown poison coursing through his veins, sapping his life little by little, Grant must discover who his unknown assailants were, what they want, and how he can fight off the poison. And that’s not all: his father is dying and he fears that his mother’s suddenly failing health may be the result of foul play.

From New York, he journeys to Florida to try to help his parents. It’s soon clear that there are no answers at home, so he turns abroad, flying to the Black Forest of Germany. There, at the foot of the Bavarian Alps, Grant is granted an audience with the mysterious Dr. Siegfried, who might just have the cure that will save Grant’s life.

Whether Grant will defeat the poison, determine the identity of his attackers, and win the love of Ursula, the good doctor’s beautiful assistant – that is for the reader to discover.

“Grant is an individual who feels things very deeply,” says author Barrington. “He’s intensely honest, and because of that, he views everyone else as honest, as well – until he is violently proven wrong. Even then, he is obsessed with his search for truth, and has a passion for perseverance.”

P.E. Barrington wrote Who Okayed This?! during his convalescence after a life-shattering car accident. While fighting for his own life, he put his demons to paper, and soon his own memoir took flight, becoming the riveting tale of Grant Davis.

A threat from the past …

“Two months later, I received a collect call from Sing Sing. Yes, that Sing Sing, the maximum security state prison north of New York City. I didn’t accept the charges, of course, because I didn’t know anyone who had been sent there. After all, I didn’t make it a habit to seek out and befriend convicts. Whoever he was, the caller screamed over the operator as she was speaking to me. I heard him loud and clear after I rejected the call. He was threatening to kill me!

He called a few more times after that, always with the same message: “I’m going to kill you, and you won’t see it coming!”

I replied “Obviously your employer didn’t educate you on your subject. Two things you should know: There are a handful of alphabet agencies that have been keeping tabs on me for a very long time. In fact every phone has been monitored for decades. Even as we speak, this phone call has been triangulated and all of your information as well as all of your associate’s info are being examined, right now, in real time. Your entire existence is going to be under a zoom microscope from now on, so, get ready for a shit storm! By the way, you can’t kill me.”

He asked “Why is that?”

I replied… “Because… I’m already dead!”
