We don't know about you but we are the very definition of exhausted. Three days of music, parties and the desert heat at the 10th annual Coachella Music and Arts Festival in Indio has left us completely wiped. But damn if we didn't get some great coverage while we were there. Randall Roberts put together a list of “LA Weekly Coachella Awards 2009: The Best and Worst of the Festival” for those who want (or need) a recap. While Coachella raged, staff writer Gendy Alimurung stayed in the city and joined the ranks of zombies at the Fangoria Weekend of Horrors Convention in downtown L.A. But despite all the hell-raising we partook in over the weekend, Sunday night we were saddened to hear that British novelist J.G. Ballard passed away after succumbing to his battle with prostate cancer. Mark Dery, who recently reviewed Ballard's memoir Miracles of Life, wrote this touching piece in today's L.A. Daily in remembrance of the late writer.
