Thanksgiving isn't just about food comas and the countdown to Black Friday. For those who stayed in L.A. during the holiday weekend, there were plenty of parties as well as the opportunity to give back to the community. Keep reading to see what we did.

Gobble Gobble Give

Over 500 volunteers donated time, money, clothing and food to make over 2700 Thanksgiving meals at the 11th Annual Gobble Gobble Give event. Participants met at The Echo to put together meals and collect toiletries and clothing before driving through Los Angeles to distribute the packages. Colin Young-Wolff captured the day in his slideshow.

KISS at Staples Center

Thanksgiving weekend began with a bang when Simian Mobile Disco headlined the Mayan Theatre on Wednesday night. JDH & Dave P of New York club fixed and LA's own Ana Calderon opened. Check out the party in Timothy Norris' slideshow.
