It's funny — every weekend in Los Angeles we promise ourselves we're going to relax, do chores, catch up on some sleep, but it never happens. Monday arrives and we're more exhausted than when the weekend began. I guess if your Friday night kicks off with The Roots live at the Palladium and an absinthe party at Hollywood Forever Cemetery, it's bound to be a whirlwind few days.

Barely recovered from our wormwood hangover, on Saturday night we faced a tough decision: Do we stay on the couch and watch Sarah Palin face-off with Tina Fey on SNL? Or do we hit the streets and check out some of the many events this city has to offer? We chose TiVo and a night out on the town. Siran Babayan hung out at La Luz de Jesus Gallery for the opening of “Family Guy C.R.A.P. (A Collection of Rare Art Pieces),” and Chris Martins stopped by the Steve Allen Theater for closing night with comedian Bruce McCulloch and some very special guests. Read Martins' full review of the night here.

Enjoy the photos from our weekend adventures. Meanwhile, I'm going to brew some more coffee, chase it with a Red Bull and get to work sewing “stinky gum hole” pockets into my Nerve Ending Fairy Halloween costume. Pumpkin day will be here sooner than we know it.
