Bursting on the scene two years ago, AdZoo's Thirsty Thursdays started as a way for Los Angeles' hottest advertising, media and marketing stars to network without the hefty conference price tag. Hosted by thinkLA, a local media organization that focuses on providing the community with educational, social and networking events, the free mixers draw individuals from diverse backgrounds within the confluence of new media and entertainment. Casual and relaxed, without the Dockers and stuffed-shirt dress code commonly associated with a business mixer, Thirsty Thursdays forgoes name tags and name-dropping in favor of actually learning people's names. AdZoo, the part of ThinkLA that's made up of industry individuals who are younger than 32, promises that you will “mix, mingle and make new friends.”
