FORESTVILLE, CA (August 31, 2023) – Sunday morning, a hit-and-run collision on River Road claimed the life of Oswaldo Mario-Rogelio Cardenas Jr. According to reports, the collision occurred around 7:30 a.m. along River Road near Rio Vista Road. Footage from the scene revealed that a dark-colored SUV –possibly a 2008 to 2013 Buick Enclave– hit Cardenas Jr. while he was walking in the area. Immediately after the crash, the driver stopped to assess the situation before driving off. Reports state that the suspect is a white woman in her 40s with an upper-arm or shoulder tattoo. Responding fire units at the scene declared 18-year-old Oswaldo Mario-Rogelio Cardenas Jr. of Cloverdale dead at the scene. A GoFundMe page was created for Cardenas to help support the family with funeral expenses.
