Though it doesn’t kick in until February, the museum is getting an early start celebrating both the Year of the Sheep and the new year with this family festival. Day-long activities include storytelling, live performances of hip-hop and traditional Japanese music, petting zoo with sheep, samples of soba noodles and in conjunction with the current Hello! Exploring the Supercute World of Hello Kitty exhibit, Hello Kitty herself. Also scheduled are loads of demonstrations on making origami, candy sculpture, mochi rice cake and daruma dolls.
