Fatal Two-Vehicle Collision on Highway 152 Results in One Fatality and Two Injuries
LOS BANOS, CA (August 23, 2021) – Oscar Robles, Felipe Martinez and 1 woman were involved in a deadly two-vehicle collision on Highway 152 Saturday morning.
The accident occurred around 7:10 a.m. and involved two vehicles near Highway 152 and Volta Road.
According to reports, Robles was driving southbound in a Ford F-350 towing a trailer when he attempted to cross, but failed to notice a 2013 Hyundai Elantra traveling in the No. 2 eastbound lanes of the highway.
As a result, the Ford drove straight into the path of the Hyundai, causing the Hyundai’s front to collide with the Ford’s right side.
Paramedics airlifted the driver of the Hyundai, Felipe Martinez, 53, of San Jose with serious injuries to Doctors Hospital in Modesto.
On the other hand, CHP said the front passenger in the Hyundai, a 55-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the hospital.
At this time, police are withholding her identity pending notification of next of kin.
Authorities do not currently believe that drugs or alcohol were factors. However, an active investigation remains ongoing.
