21-Year-Old Dies after Hit-and-Run Crash on Elm Avenue, Suspect Identified

GREENFIELD, CA (July 26, 2022)Oscar Lopez died, and Alfonso Benito Herrera was arrested after a hit-and-run crash on Elm Avenue.

The incident happened on July 22nd, when a vehicle struck Lopez while he was walking around the 1100 Block of Elm Avenue. The driver of the vehicle drove off without rendering aid to the victim.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after and rushed 21-year-old Lopez to a local hospital to be treated for major head injuries. He died several days later.

Meanwhile, police have identified the suspect as Alfonso Benito Herrera but he was not taken into custody yet. He is still on the run.
