Oscar Becerril-Rios was beaten to death after he left a family gathering in South Los Angeles. Becerril-Rios was leaving a baptism party on January 10 at a friend's house around 17th Street and Hooper Avenue when he was bashed over the head with a large piece of wood by two Hispanic males.

The police are unsure whether the suspects were at the same party as the 31-year-old handyman. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he died of his injuries July 12. Police do not believe the attack was gang-related. Anyone with information should contact LAPD's Newton Division at (213) 846-6556.
