Just in time for Rosh Hashanah (Wednesday night, people), the Beverly Hills outpost of the Original Brooklyn Water Bagel Co. is going kosher. The restaurant, which closed over the weekend to make the conversion, will re-open on Wednesday, Sept. 28th with a kosher menu that features smoked fish, a new salad bar and new soups like lentil, mushroom barley and split pea. In practical terms, that means the restaurant, which is certified by EarthKosher, is going all dairy. No more corned beef rubens. No more meat at all.

In addition, the restaurant will extend its hours from 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., now accommodating dinner diners. Plus, they're launching new online ordering, delivery and catering services. Look for owner Larry King to deliver a catering order to one randomly chosen guest among the first 25 catering orders.

Opened in March, the best thing about the Original Brooklyn Water Bagel Co. is its bagels: “The bagels here are good. Better than good. They're thick and chewy, larger than most and with enough daylight in the center to surround a child's eyeglass frame. If you like them dense and intense, these bagels deliver. You chew and chew and chew only to find there's still more dough. Eating an entire one of these things is like doing a math problem with your teeth.” (Read the full review.)
