The homeless population has increased by 16 percent in Los Angeles County since 2011, and Isaac Pierce, CEO of “Operation: Help the Homeless,” wants to lend a hand.

For the third annual “Operation: Help the Homeless,” which takes place Friday and Saturday in downtown, Pierce and hundreds of volunteers will assemble and hand out hundreds of meals and homeless kits to people in need.

“We have tremendous support and favor and are making some noise in Skid Row in a positive way,” Pierce tells L.A. Weekly.

Pierce and his group need help from the public. On Friday, starting at 6 p.m., they will assemble hundreds of homeless kits and meals at 1726 N. Spring Street.

On Saturday, at 6:15 a.m., volunteers will start to distribute the kits and meals on Skid Row. People should meet at the Spring Street address again. They'll hand out everything at Gladys Park at 6th Street and Gladys Avenue.

You can help out on either day, if not both. And if you're too busy, you can always reach out to Pierce at his website: operationhelpthehomeless.com.
